I've been playing a lot of Advance Wars lately. It is a perfect little gem of a game, and I'd like to use it to make some points about good game design.Read this. Peter's advice isn't just for game designers — everyone designing software can benefit from it.
Good game design increase richness, but eliminates complexity. Good game design emphasizes content over form. And, all things being equal, good game design favors mainstream technology over the cutting edge.

Heh, I've had a quote from CJ Silverio about the importance of content over form on my home page since it went up in 1996!
Right. So, why haven't you gotten that DS Lite yet? You need to a) play Advance Wars or Advance Wars DS and b) play Animal Crossing: Wild World with me. :)
(I know you're busy! But it'll be fun when you get around to it.)
